My little dude has become obsessed with Halloween and all the decorations. He loves looking at all of the Halloween stuff in stores and decorations our neighbors have. HE’s not quite sure what he wants to wear as his costume, but I think he’s going to sway towards something that isn’t too scary. He also noticed some badges that you can pin onto clothing when looking in the stores so I might get him those as a surprise to add to his costume. Or, I will go one better and find some Halloween embroidery designs and add them to his favourite pair of jeans! I’m sure he’ll absolutely love that idea and he won’t have seen it before, so it’ll be a total surprise for him.
While I was out running errands earlier this week I stopped by our local craft store and bought some Halloween foam cut-outs and foam pumpkins. I like to keep some craft stuff around for a rainy day or for when I’m feeling creative. The pumpkins are adorable and will work perfectly in our home. We do usually dress the house up for Halloween but this year we’re going to go all out!
We had a rainy afternoon and weren’t going to be able to play outside. Before Little Dude woke up from his nap I got out the Halloween foam stuff. Little Dude was so excited. His face lit up when he saw that we were going to do some Halloween crafts. I think we should do it every year! I made him some popcorn and we sat at the table and made Halloween pictures and decorated the playroom and our Wall of Fame with them. Little dude loved the foam cutouts. He loved to peel the backing off himself, which gave him something more to do. It was also a great fine motor activity.
