5 Tips to Stay Healthy During Cold & Flu Season
Flu & Cold season is the worst. It’s no fun being sick or taking care of a sick family. And while it’s not fun going into a doctors surgery, if anyone in your family shows bad symptoms of the flu then make sure you go to somewhere like the Fort Collins Urgent Care to stop the flu from spreading. However, it would be best if you managed to keep yourself and your family cold & flu-free this season and stay out of the doctors off. Check out our simple tips to stay healthy during cold & flu season.
5 Tips to Stay Healthy During Cold & Flu Season
1. Wash Your Hands-A LOT
Wash your hands a lot! Scrub with soap and water for at least 20 seconds with an antibacterial soap to help eliminate bacteria that could lead to the flu or infections.
2. Get Enough Sleep
Stick to a bedtime for yourself and your kids. Rest is essential for staying healthy during cold & flu season.
3. Eat Right
Eat the rainbow! Fresh fruit, veggies, lean proteins and healthy grains. Start each day off with eating a wholesome breakfast.
4. Take Your Vitamins & Supplements
Increase your Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Probiotics. Vitamin C powder helps in cold and flu prevention and helps fight cold-and-flu if you are already sick.
Vitamin D helps fight colds and flu, and Probiotics helps keep your gut and gastrointestinal tract balanced.
5. Cough & Sneeze in Your Elbow
Cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze and teach children to cough or sneeze into their elbow and not their hands. You can also look at wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) like face masks, disposable gloves, etc. outside when you can’t avoid others. SciQuip offers PPE to those who are in need during this time. You can check them out online at sciquip.co.uk.

As a mom of young kids I really appreciate you pointing out the obvious ones that people often don’t talk about – esp coughing and sneezing into your elbow. I look at so many kids (and adults!) sneezing into their hands and then shaking hands with someone, no wonder these colds spread so quickly

Great blog! Thanks for sharing these wonderful tips. I like that you included Vitamins and Supplements since our body need to boost our immune system to protect us from germs.
