DIY Welcome Basket is the perfect welcome to the neighborhood gift that any new neighbors would love!
When I was a kid, I was a Brownie and then I crossed the bridge to became a Girl Scout. I have fond memories of being both a Brownie and a Girl Scout. Memories of singing and doing crafts with the folks living in the nursing home, painting storefront windows for Halloween, helping with our towns clean up day, selling cookies, and meeting great friends along the way. I like to think that some of those values that I learned in those early years stuck with me throughout my entire life, by creating DIY Welcome Gifts for new neighbors to welcome them to the neighborhood.
Our previous neighbors told us they sold their house to a family that had a young boy about my son’s age. Needless to say, I was pretty excited for these new neighbors to move in. I couldn’t wait for my son to have a playmate right next door. It was about a month or so after our previous neighbors moved out before the moving truck showed up. The families two cars were packed and filled. We waved as we drove by each other that day.
Moving is absolutely no fun. I can speak from experience. Instead of just bring over a plant to welcome them to the neighborhood, I made them a DIY Welcome Basket complete with a few everyday necessities. Check it out!
