I was invited to attend a press screening of Finding Dory, all opinions are my own.
Wow! Finding Dory, AMAZING! The most anticipated Disney•Pixar sequel ever. Once again Disney•Pixar hits a homerun with Finding Dory creating an award-worthy film. With the reoccurring theme of overcoming obstacles throughout the film, you can’t help cheering for Dory as she overcomes challenges. Her repeated quote throughout offers a positive message “you can always find a way.”

“Finding Dory” is Dory’s story. The adorable blue tang, Dory, who suffers from short-term memory loss, “voiced by Ellen DeGeneres.” Together with her friends Nemo, “the voice of Hayden Rolence” and Marlin “voice of Albert Brooks”, they search for answers about Dory’s past as snippets of her memory come back as they search for Dory’s parents. The film introduces some new characters that help Dory, Marlin & Nemo in the quest to find Dory’s parents.

Without spoiling the whole movie for you, here are the must-knows.
The Rating…
Finding Dory is rated PG for “mild thematic elements.” There are a few seconds as seen in the trailer with the squid. Some scenes can be seen as creepy to little viewers (chase scene, scary music, eyeball stares). However, as a parent to a 5- year- old, I didn’t think that the few scenes were too scary for young viewers and enough from preventing my child viewing the film. Little Dude wasn’t fazed by the scenes and wasn’t scared.
Is it Family Friendly…
Finding Dory is a family movie that the whole family will enjoy. There is no violence, no death, and no inappropriate language. Finding Dory is an action packed adventure and shares appropriate humor. There are a few tear-jerker scenes. However, they are happy tears.

Oh and Piper…
Piper is the cute, Disney’s short movie that is played before Finding Dory that has you guessing the whole time. Is is real life or is it animated? Piper is the adorable story of a baby bird learning to leave the nest at the beach and learning how to catch clams. Make sure you don’t miss it!
