Halloween has come and gone. The decorations, costumes, parties, and trick or treating is over! The only thing left… Candy, candy, and more candy! This year the Switch Witch came to our house and took all of the candy Little Dude collected and also our leftover candy! Thank goodness! She was so kind to leave behind five pieces of candy and three Disney Planes for Little Dude and a new toothbrush! He was so excited for his new planes!
Who is the Switch Witch?
The Switch Witch is a crazy sugar witch, who comes sometime in the middle of the night on Halloween. She takes all the Halloween candy that was either collected by the kids and any leftover candy not handed out to trick or treaters. She leaves behind 5 pieces of each child’s favorite Halloween candy and a few small toys for each child! Then The Switch Witch takes all the candy she has collected and flies it over to the service men and women who are serving our country all over the world. Only the luckiest one’s get a visit from The Switch Witch. It is a sign of good luck!
The Switch Witch Uncovered
Who is The Switch Witch really? What really happen’s on Halloween night after the children go to sleep. The Mom’s and Dad’s go through the candy and eat all their favorites. Then sort out five pieces of the kids favorite candy and leave a few new small toys next to the candy. Mom’s and Dad’s take the Halloween candy and donate the Halloween candy to the US troops! Then after the dentist’s offices collection days they will mail all the donated Halloween Candy to our troops! It’s a win-win! The troops get a little something sweet and they kids get something instead of all that candy! It’s also good because it means the dentists can highlight how much candy you can eat before risking the health of your teeth, obviously with brushing at least twice every day!

What a great idea! I love it! I always eat all of the stuff with nuts in it for my son anyway (he’s allergic) so why not just send 1/2 to the troops?? I mean I DONT NEED IT!! Love it!

I love the switch witch idea. I wish I would have thought of that. I do buy my children’s candy off of them after letting them eat it for a couple of days. The more they have the bigger the toy they get. I then take the candy to work and let my customers take it. Sugar overload is no fun. My kids run around like crazy and then crash hard. You’ve got a great list of places to check that will take the candy. That is very helpful.

Thanks for stopping by! Sugar high is no fun! It’s crazy how much candy people give out! Glad you like the Switch Witch!

What a good idea! I’m not sure if I would be willing to take all of their candy. We make it last for months. Maybe the Switch Witch could come next year and leave a little something for half of their candy.

I love both of these ideas. We didn’t get any candy (on purpose) this year but I think I’ll be using the switch witch idea for years in the future. Thanks for sharing on the weekend re-Treat link party!

Sounds like a good thing to do. It doesn’t take away the fun from trick or treating, no worries over sugarhigh and makes brings smiles to heroes. 🙂
