Each season offers different weather for beautiful fruits and vegetables to grow. Eating locally and seasonally has many benefits. It’s not just healthier for you it can also save you some money and help support local farmers in the process. Eating seasonally also gives you an opportunity to try new fruits and vegetables and experiment with new recipes.
When fruits and vegetables are grown locally, the fruits and vegetable are picked at the peak of their ripeness. Instead of being harvested early in order to be shipped and distributed to retail grocery stores to ripen on store shelves. When I grocery shop at Publix I also try to buy fruits and vegetables that are in season and grown local. The freshness and quality is always top notch and I love to support local farmers and the economy.

Produce in season is always the best produce. They’re always so much cheaper and taste better too. I love mangoes and could probably eat them everyday of my life if i could, but they’re only in season during the spring/summer, and i’m okay with that because i know i’ll be getting the best out there.

I love eating local foods, and supporting local farmers – plus I can often find some good organic stuff! The worst is around this time of year, because the fruits in the spring are imported from so far and things like apples are the leftovers from the fall.

Eating seasonally is very healthy. The fruits we eat out of season are often full of things that are not good for our bodies. I love your idea of trying new recipes with the in season fruits and vegetables. It challenges you to think in terms of what fruits are available and making the most of it. I personally love when mangoes are fresh and in season.

I prefer buying from Fresh from Florida because everything really is a lot healthier fresh and tastier. I’ll have to see what all is in season around here. I got to The Fresh Market to stock up once a week.

One of the reasons I love the Farmer’s Market so much is all the fresh produce that they have available. It’s always healthier to eat fresh veggies and fruits instead of the frozen ones.

Yes produce in season does taste better and is usually less expensive. I can’t wait for corn to be in season here in NJ, I love fresh corn.

Nothing like fresh berries and I live in an area where the farmers market isn’t year round so we have to rely on grocery store offerings and sometimes those are slim pickings. I love to buy from farm whenever possible. Fresh is best.

Eating in season for one thing is cheaper. I always put up extra fruit for when the season is over and that way we can still enjoy the out of season fruit with out it costing an arm and a let.
